“Restigouche River Guides” – A lovely 16” x 20” oil on canvas by Bruce Wood. Bruce is a full-time painter, sculptor and illustrator whose work was recently profiled in the Winter 2008 issue of the Atlantic Salmon Journal. He has many one man shows to his credit as well as works commissioned by Environment Canada and the Department of Natural Resources. In 1992, he designed the Nova Scotia coin for the Royal Canadian Mint under the Canada 125 initiative. Most recently his time has been spent in depicting the Atlantic salmon sport fishery by traveling to various locations each spring and summer to sketch and photograph river locales. Original Art – From one of our favourite Nova Scotian artists, Don Pentz. Don received his MFA from the university of Regina, Saskatchewan and he has been exhibiting since 1967 in galleries across Canada and as far a field as England, Japan, France and areas of the United States. He is known for his finely detailed watercolour and oil paintings which depict the waterways of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
